为了更好的与世界教育接轨，我校与世界各地许多国家的学校建立了友好关系。每年都有大批来自美国、德国、法国、日本、英国、新加坡等国家以及我国台湾等地区的教育代表团来我校考察交流，经常有外籍教育界著名人士到我校“专家论坛”进行专题讲学。日本、法国、德国等国家的多所学校还每年派出师生考察团，来到我校与我校师生共同开展为期一周到半个月的学习活动、家庭与社区交流、旅游考察活动，我校每年也派出师生代表团赴法、德、日等国家进行对应的交流。我校还聘请了英国、德国、新西兰、澳大利亚、爱尔兰的教师常驻我校担任外籍教师，对我校外语教师进行专业的再培训，对学生进行英语情景教学指导。2003年2月起，我校成为无锡市唯一一所参加我国政府组织的ASSE项目的国际交流学校，在全市首先开始接受来自美国、加拿大、法国的国际交流学生来校留学，这进一步推动了我校的国际化进程。我校每年都有学生参加我国政府和国外教育机构组织的AFS、AYA项目赴美国、德国、挪威等国进行为期一年的交流学习活动。无锡市一中是江苏省教育厅指定的全省六所“国家汉语推广基地学校”之一，是本地区的对外汉语教育中心。
    In order to better connect with the international education, our school has established relationship with a large number of schools of different countries. A great many education delegations from different countries such as America, Japan, France, German, England and Singapore as well as those from Taiwan district of our country visit our school and communicate with us every year. Meanwhile, foreign elites in education field often come to our school and give a lecture for the Expert Forum of our school. The delegations of teachers and students from different countries are sent to visit us and to study with us for a week or half a month, communicate with families and communities and travel for a sightseeing; delegation of our school will be sent to pay a visit to those countries for communication as well. We still employ the teachers from Britain, Germany, New Zealand, Australia and Ireland to retrain the English teachers in our school and instruct the students. Since February 2003, our school has become the only school for international communication of Wuxi in the ASSE project organized by the government of our country and has started arranging the study in our school for the students for international communication purpose from America, Canada and France, which will promote the internationalization of our school. Every year in our school some students will go to US, Germany, Norway and other countries to take part in the AFS and AYA programs, organized by our government and some overseas educational institutions and they will spend one year communicating and studying there. Wuxi No 1 Senior High School is one of six schools in Jiangsu Province, assigned by Jiangsu Department the title ?a school base for international promotion of Chinese Language ? and it is the local Chinese teaching centre for foreign students.
